ANI publishes response sent to Minister of Justice regarding General Prosecutor candidates

In response to the statements of the Minister of Justice, Olesea Stamate, that the National Integrity Authority (ANI) refused to submit all available and accurate information regarding aplicants' income statements to the commission of pre-selection of candidates for the position of general prosecutor, ANI responded with a public letter to the Ministry of Justice.

In the letter, ANI calls on the minister to provide legal grounds for the disclosure of personal data from the income statements or to provide the consent of the subjects of the personal data, by which the subjects accept their data to be disclosed.

Additionally, the letter shows that from the list of persons mentioned in the Olesea Stamate request to ANI, only regarding Ruslan Popov a file was issued and forwarded to the General Prosecutor's Office for examination for false statements. As for the other candidates admitted to the competition, no files were issued regarding the violation of the legal regime of conflicts of interest, incompatibilities, restrictions or limitations and there are no court decisions ordering the confiscation of unjustified assets.

The Minister of Justice said during a TV show that she "issued a request to ANI for all available information, which was refused on the grounds that the requested data is personal data. That should help you understand the commission's working situation", said Olesea Stamate. According to the minister, similar occurrences will not be admitted in the following employment contests.
