The Moldovan national football team suffered another beating in the qualifiers for the 2012 European Championship. On Tuesday, September 6, the Tricolors succumbed to a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Hungary, Info-Prim Neo reports. This is the fourth consecutive defeat for the team coached by Gabi Balint.
The guests opened the score on 7 minutes through Vilmos Vanczak. The Moldovans responded by creating several chances at the other end of the pitch, but without any results on the score table. The Magyars doubled their lead in the dying stages of the game thanks to a goal from Gergely Rudolf.
“I’m pleased by the way we played and by the result”, Hungary manager Sandor Egervary stated at the post-match press conference. For his part, Gabi Balint thanked the fans for their support. “The fans were fantastic. They cheered us, even though we were on a losing streak”. The Romanian coach criticized the players’ lack of concentration. “It’s the fourth game in a row when we concede in the first minutes. I don’t know what’s happening”, he said.

Netherlands are top of the group and secured a berth at the European Championship. Sweden and Hungary share the 2nd and 3rd place with 18 points each. Finland are 4th with 9 points. Moldova gathered 6 points and sit 5th, while San Marino remain the bottom side without any points.
