ANRE publishes new electric power tariffs

The new tariffs for the distribution and supply of electricity, approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) on July 18, have been published on the institution’s website, IPN reports.

The electric power transportation tariff was increased from 8.02 bani/kWh to 14.5 bani/kWh (without VAT), even if the operator IS “Moldelectrica” asked for a tariff of 28 bani/kWh.

The following distribution tariffs were set for the network operator ICS “RED Union Fenosa” SA: 15 bani/kWh for the high voltage power lines (35 and 110 kV); 42 bani/kWh – for the medium voltage power lines (6 and 10 kV); 63 de bani/kWh – for the low voltage power lines (up to 0.4 kV). The end-users connected to the low voltage power lines served by “Gas Natural Fenosa Furnizare Energie” (mainly household users) will pay a tariff of 2.16 lei/kWh. Those connected to the medium voltage power lines will pay 1.95 lei/kWh, while those connected to the high voltage power lines –1.68 lei/kWh.

The distribution tariffs for the network operator “RED Nord” SA will be 50 bani/kWh for the medium voltage power lines and 71 bani/kWh for the low voltage power lines. The end-users connected to the low voltage power lines served by this operator will pay a tariff of 2.23 lei/kWh, while those connected to the medium voltage power lines – of 2.02 lei/kWh.

The distribution tariffs for the network operator “RED Nord - Vest” will be 56 bani/kWh for the medium voltage power lines and 82 bani/kWh for the low voltage power lines. The household users connected to the low voltage power lines served by “RED Nord - Vest” SA will pay a tariff of 2.33 lei/kWh, while those connected to the medium voltage power lines – of 2.07 lei/kWh.

In general, the ANRE didn’t include financial deviations of over 2 billion lei in the regulated tariffs for the distribution and supply of electricity. These deviations accumulated mainly as a result of the depreciation of the national currency against the US dollar. The Agency intends to set up a working group consisting of energy experts, representatives of NGOs, trade unions and other interested sides to verify the financial deviations of the power suppliers.

The new tariffs will take effect when they are published in the Official Gazette. The last time the electric power tariffs for end-users were adjusted by the ANRE in May 2012.
