The National Anticorruption Center (CNA) received two state-of-the-art polygraphs donated by the United States Embassy, IPN reports.
CNA director Ruslan Flocea emphasized how important the use of polygraphs is in the work of law-enforcement agencies. “The polygraph is an indispensable instrument in the employment process at the CNA, preventing candidates who fail the polygraph test from accessing the position,” said Flocea.
With the support of the US Embassy, Moldovan polygraph experts have also received specialized training in Ukraine this year.
Robert M. Alexander, senior law-enforcement adviser at the US Embassy in Chisinau, said the diplomatic mission is open to working with the CNA as long as this will help the institution achieve remarkable results in preventing and combating corruption.
The Polygraph Law was adopted in 2008, but is implementation began in 2015 when the State Commission for Polygraph Testing was created. Subject to testing are people employed within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Anticorruption Center, the National Authority for Integrity, the Intelligence and Security Service and the Customs Service.
