“Apa-Canal Chisinau” starts preparations for cold season

The administration of the public utility “Apa-Canal Chisinau” has announced that the first planned works to prepare the water supply and sewerage system for the cold season start on May 15, in Centru district of Chisinau. The piping system of the water pumping stations and the water and sewer pipes on a number of streets in the district will be repaired, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the water supplier, five such planned activities will be performed during the year, by one in each district of Chisinau. These works include the connection of the new pipes, laying of ducts and preparation of the technical equipment for winter.

The prophylaxis works will include replacement of portions of water mains with a diameter of 1,000-1,200 mm and of pipes with a smaller diameter, cleaning of the sewer pipes in Centru district and repair of the wiring of the water pumping stations on Valea Dicescu St and in Telecentru sector. There will be replaced 11 hydrants.

The supply of water on a number of streets will be stopped during the works.

From midnight on May 15 until 2pm on May 16, the water supply will be off on the following streets in Centru district: M. Ceachir, M. Eliade, P. Botu, A. David, I. Nistor, M. Lomonosov, Vl. Korolenko, N. Testemitanu, Grenoble, Drumul Schinoasei, Potarnichii, Sf. Maria, Livadarilor, Schinoasa Deal, Sihastrului, Soseaua Hancesti, Valcele, Pietrarilor, Drumul Viilor, Ciocarliei, Trifan Balta, Timis, Belsugului, A. Crihan, Universitatii, A. Mateevici, Ismail, I. Inculet, Pan Halippa; as well as on the streets: V. Dokuceaev, Mitropolit Gurie Grosu, Gh. Tudor, V. Alecsandri, Valea Dicescu, Frumusica, V. Cupcea, Academiei, Lech Kaczynschi, Sprincenoaia, and in Schinoasa quarter

In Rascani district, the supply of electricity will be stopped at 98 – 108 Ismail St, while in Botanica district - at 15 Trandafirilor St.

While the works will be carried out, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” will supply the consumers will water in tanks. To find out the location of the tanks and when they will be delivered, the consumers can call on 0(22)-256-666.
