April 7 – day of commemorations
Tomorrow, April 7, will be a day of commemorations. Besides the commemoration of the victims of the April 2009 events, there will be remembered the former Mayor of Chisinau Nicolae Costin and composer Ion Aldea-Teodorovici, who were born on this day, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The commemorations will start with a service at Saint Theodora of Sihla Church at 8.00. At 9.00, flowers will be laid to Nicolae Costin's and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici's graves at the Central Cemetery located on Armeneasca St. A commemoration meeting will be held in front of the Parliament Building at 10.00 , where there will be presented the model of the Freedom Monument.
An exhibition of photographs, videos and audios about the April 7, 2009 events will be opened on the Classical Writers Alley at 12.00. A religious ceremony will be held in the Great National Assembly Square, at the place where Valeriu Boboc was allegedly killed, starting at 12.30. At 14.00, Valeriu Boboc will be commemorated at the cemetery in Bubuieci village, where he was buried. At 13.00, a commemorative plaque will be unveiled on the house where Mayor Nicolae Costin lived.
The commemorative events will continue in the evening with a concert by famous national singers who will sing pieces of music composed by Ion Aldea-Teodorovici. A play about the events that happened a year ago themed “April 7, 2009/Corridor of Death” will be performed at “Satiricus. Ion Luca Caragiale” Theater starting at 18.00.
The events are organized by the Chisinau City Hall and the Ministry of Culture.
