ASEM opens new block

The students of the Finance and Accounting Faculty of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) will study in a new block that was inaugurated on September 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. ASEM rector Grigore Belostecinic said the building was erected at a cost of over 11 million lei. “All the money represents the Academy’s funds. This does not mean that we used only the money paid by the students for contracts. We used also the money coming from other services provided by the Academy. This block has a computer room, a scientific library and new furniture. The construction works started in 2006 and I’m very glad that we managed to finish them so quickly,” said Grigore Belostecinic. After visiting a number of lecture rooms and the library, Prime Minister Vlad Filat expressed his satisfaction with the way the new block looked. “What the Academy’s administrators did is phenomenal. It is a building with good conditions of study and I congratulate the persons who will study here,” said the Premier during the event. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca praised the administration of the ASEM for its performance and said he would like every education institution in the municipality to erect such buildings. Students attending the event stated for Info-Prim Neo that they are very glad they are able to study in such buildings. Their parents said that the tuition fees are high, but the money is spent efficiently and they are satisfied with the conditions in which their children study. About 1 700 students will study in the new block in the 2011-2012 academic year.
