The manifestation dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Moldova will cost 14 million lei. The biggest surprise will be the fireworks synchronized with music. A discussion about the preparations for the event on August 27 took place on Monday, during the Government meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The holiday program will begin at 9 AM, with a flower laying ceremony at the monument of Stefan cel Mare, followed by the official festivity and the military parade. A thematic show “For you, my Country…” is scheduled for 11 AM. Next will come exhibitions, an ethno-cultural program, a fanfare concert, etc. The fireworks will begin at 10 PM, while the special guests, a Romanian band, will perform between 10.10 PM and 11 PM. The band wasn’t announced yet, but Cargo are among the favorites.
Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said that all the events were prepared. The only issue was the money transfer. “We have a little problem with the expenses, not those related to artists, but to equipment. We have signed all the contracts. We only need to transfer the money”, said the Minister.
Film director Lidia Panfil had her say on the issue as well. “I have no money at all to work on the video or on the audio. The production design is delayed. We cannot do anything because with have no money whatsoever. Give us at least 10% to have what to begin our work with”, she requested.
Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu, who heads the commission for the 20th anniversary of Moldova's independence, assured that the money issue would be solved soon.
“There is enough money, but the procurement procedures must be respected. These are public funds that must be spent transparently. I will contact the responsible person and everything will be solved until evening. There are no problems”, said Mihai Moldovanu. According to the official, the money will come from the reserve fund and from sponsors. Sponsorship letters have been sent to 30 companies and banks.
Ion Rusu, head of Showbiz Management Ltd., said that installing the stage would cost about 460,000 lei. He added that the fireworks would be synchronized with the music, as now popular in many countries.
Vera Petuhov, deputy director of the Interethnic Relations Bureau, announced that 60 people representing the Moldovan communities abroad would attend the Independence Day manifestations. In 10 countries, thematic round tables, concerts and exhibitions will be organized on this occasion.
