The Moldovan authorities set the goal of bringing back home the citizens who emigrated to France. Those who will return home will benefit from a number of concessions, including employment opportunities and possibilities of starting a business. The Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and the French Office for Immigration and Integration on July 6 signed an agreement on the re-employment of Moldovans who return from France, IPN reports.

Minister of Labor Stela Grigoras told a news conference that the accord is designed to motivate and stimulate the Moldovans who went to France to voluntarily return home by offering reintegration opportunities. Together with the signing of the accord, mechanisms will be identified for convincing those who went abroad that Moldova needs them at home.

“We are firmly convinced that this agreement signed with the French Republic will promote the development of similar practices of signing accords with other countries that house Moldovan citizens,” stated the minister.

French Office for Immigration and Integration director general Didier Leschi said the support that will be offered in the form of projects is beneficial to both of the states because it can contribute to developing the bilateral relations in the future. “Our intention is to help the persons who contributed to our welfare when these have the necessity and will to return home,” he stated.

Didier Leschi also said that the great devotion to the homeland is a special feature of the Moldovans and the Moldovan citizens are the first who seek help for returning home. Often the Moldovans want to return home owing to the social situation in France, which faces the unemployment crisis, housing crisis etc.

According to him, there are no accurate statistics about the number of Moldovans who are in France, but it’s certain that several hundred Moldovans stay legally in the French state and have a stay or work permit or are students or researchers.
