The wish to give birth to a baby at home, not in the hospital resulted in a tragedy for a family from Chisinau. The first child of the couple died during delivery. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the 31-year-old woman refused to go to the hospital. The woman went into labor on Monday morning. The father of the child called the ambulance towards the evening. Anatol Proca said the ambulance arrived at the place in several minutes as the ambulance service is located near the apartment building where the family lives. The doctors could not do something as the child was already dead. The ambulance team presumes the woman was helped to give birth by a person with medical education. The delivery was complicated as the baby was in pelvic presentation. A caesarian is recommended is such cases. The police are investigating the case. On March 29, the Chisinau Ambulance Service dealt with 690 calls, including 69 cases of acute viral infection, 60 cases of trauma, five strokes, etc.
