The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) Friday rejected the application of the TV channel NIT (New Televised Ideas), asking that the penalties imposed on it for committing violations in covering the campaign for the November 28 early parliamentary be annulled, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Early in November, the BCC warned NIT for not ensuring a plurality of opinions and for being biased in favor of the Communists Party. Afterward, the BCC adopted another two decisions, imposing two fines of 5,400 lei each on the channel.
On November 19, the BCC penalized NIT for similar violations, banning it from broadcasting advertisements for five days.
The BCC members expressed their indignation at the fact that the administration of NIT breaks the law and then broadcasts news whereby they complain that they main remain without a license.
The withdrawal of license is the most serious punishment and follows the warning, fining and suspension of advertising.
