BCC will monitor news programs on TV channels with national coverage
The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) will supervise the TV channels with national coverage to see if the news items broadcast by them are truthful and meet the principle of neutrality. A decision to this effect was taken on March 29 following an application filed by Liberal MP Valeriu Saharneanu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Valeriu Saharneanu informed the Council that the private TV channel NIT on March 14 aired incorrect information, according to which Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Speaker Marian Lupu intend to flee over the Prut. The lawmaker accused NIT of propaganda.
If deviations from the broadcasting legislation are identified during the monitoring, there will be imposed penalties.
