Belgian rugbists always faced difficulties in matches with Moldovans, coach
The coach of the Belgian national rugby squad Richard McClintock said that his players are hopeful that they will emerge victorious in the March 10 match, but stressed that they had always faced difficulties in the games played with the Moldovans, who are worthy opponents, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“A larger number of our rugbists received injuries in the match with the Netherlands and the internal championship matches, but we will make effort to win. However, the stake in this match is greater for Moldova. We are more relaxed as we have an advantage of four points against the rivals,” MCClintock said in a news conference held jointly with the chairman of the Rugby Federation of Moldova Vasile Revenko.
Revenko also said that the Moldovans want very much to win the game so as to be able to qualify for the European championship.
Vadim Cobalas and Veaceslav Titica, of the Moldovan rugby team, are optimistic about their chances to win. They said that they studied the tactics of the Belgians, who play a tough and rapid game.
In the return match against Brussels, Moldova lost by 20:5.
