The recipients of social benefits can obtain free a card from Banca de Economii (BEM) through which they will receive pensions or allowances. The person should only file an application to any agency or branch of the bank and submit the required documents.

The head of the bank’s Marketing Section Roman Cojuhari has told IPN that the required documents include the original and copy of the identity card, the original and copy of the pensioner’s permit or the copy of the child’s birth certificate.

The persons who cannot go personally to the bank can authorize another person who will ask for a bank card based on power of attorney. But the card will be issued only to the future card holder.

Currently, those entitled can receive the social benefits at post offices, at Banca de Economii or through the bank card. The immobilized persons can ask to be brought the pension or benefit at home.
