Beware of vehicle with siren and flasher!
A special vehicle of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service accompanied by cars of the Traffic Police will travel along the most congested Chisinau streets on March 3 to see how the drivers behave when they meet units of transport with siren and flasher.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the action starts at noon and will last for several hours. The traffic police will fine the drivers who will not give way to the special vehicle.
According to Tudor Capatana, of the Traffic Police Department's press service, the police, firefighting vehicles, ambulances and special escorts must be given way when they have the flasher and siren on.
The divers who do not give way to such vehicles are liable to fines of 500 to 600 lei and four penalty points.
