BNM issues jubilee and commemorative coins
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will issue six jubilee and commemorative coins from the series: “650 years since the foundation of the Moldavian state”, “Moldova's holidays, culture, traditions” and “Moldova's Monuments” on June 15, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The decision is published in the edition of Monitorul Oficial (Official Gazette) on June 12. According to a communique issued by the central bank, the first series includes a golden coin of 200 lei and three silver coins of 100, 50 and 20 lei.
A new coin worth 50 lei has been issued in the series “Moldova's holidays, culture, traditions”. It is made from silver and represents one of the oldest handicrafts: weaving.
In the series “Moldova's Monuments”, the NBM has issued a silver coin worth 50 lei. Its design represents the geodesic point Rudi of the Struve Geodesic Arch, crossing Moldova's territory and protected by the state. It is part of the world's heritage under UNESCO's aegis.
The coins can serve as paying and numismatic means.
