Books and computers for rural libraries to be purchased with EU money

The EU will provide about €900,000 to Moldova to outfit the rural libraries with computers and increase their stocks with books in Romanian. In a news conference on Friday, Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said the money will be disbursed in a month, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We focused on this aspect because we know the conditions in which our children grow up. We began with this project because we develop through culture,” said the minister. Boris Focsa stressed that the next project that could be financed by the EU is the organization of the Moldovan Culture Days in Brussels. The president of the European Economic and Social Committee Mario Sepi said the EU proposed long-term strategies for overcoming this crisis. “We will maintain this cooperation relations. This is the first visit, but we will make more visits in the future,” said the European official. On November 19, Boris Focsa and Mario Sepi went to visit rural libraries to see the conditions in which they work.
