Botnari case remitted to court
Three sets of criminal proceedings against police officers have been remitted to court, the General Prosecutor's Office reported.
Four high-ranking Chisinau police officers have been charged with negligence for allegedly permitting maltreatment of people in police stations following protests last April.
Among these officers is Vladimir Botnari, the former general commissar of Chisinau municipality. The other three are Traian Vlad and Vasile Buzu from the Centru Commissariat, and Serghei Galaniuc from the Buiucani Commissariat.
Following last April's protests, as many as 39 police officers have faced criminal proceedings.
