The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) renewed the broadcast licenses of five Moldovan TV channels, which were to expire on June 17, when Moldova is to complete the switchover from analog television to digital terrestrial one, IPN reports

The licenses for Moldova 1 and NTS were extended until October 2016, for Bizim Aidinic – until January 2017, for Triumf TV – until May 2017, while for Art TV – until October 2017.

BCC chairman Dinu Ciocan said the broadcast licenses can be extended during seven years of the issuing of the license.

On June 17, 2015, Moldova is to complete the transit from analogue television to digital terrestrial one, but the analog TV channels whose frequencies will not interfere with those of the digital channels will continue to work.
