The Broadcasting Coordination Council imposed fines of 1,800 lei on nine TV channels and radio stations for not presenting reports for last year in time. Another 23 broadcasters were given warnings for committing the same violation, IPN reports.
The broadcasters were fined for not obeying article 66, paragraph 7 of the Broadcasting Code, which obliges the radio and TV stations that hold a broadcast license to annually submit reports on the implementation of the programs plan the previous year to the Broadcasting Coordination Council.
The reports were to be presented by March 1. Among those amended were Tele Max, Real VIP TV, and Pervocom Lux.
In the March 25 meeting, the Council’s chairman Marian Pocaznoi said the warned broadcasters must render the report for 2012 within 10 days. Otherwise, they will be inspected by the Council’s examination and licensing commission.
