Budget of 112 Service for 2017 approved

The implementation of the Common Emergency Telephone Number Service 112, launched in 2016, will continue this year with the development of the automated information system. There will be repaired the offices of the future Service and purchased the necessary equipment and furniture. The costs were assessed at 37.5 million lei. The total 2017 budget of the 112 Service approved by the Government is 50 million lei, IPN reports.

The personnel expenditure will total 7.6 million lei, while the current costs 4.7 million. The current costs include expenses for training personnel and for popularizing the 112 Service among the population.

The 112 Service will have the status of public institution and will work based on allocations from the state budget, extra-budgetary means and donors’ funds.

The creation of the 112 Service is envisioned in the Moldova-EU Association Agreement. This covers the police, firefighters, emergency medical service and gas service.
