Bureau of Migration and Asylum may have new head office

Prime Minister Vlad Filat instructed the Ministry of the Interior and the State Chancellery to identify a separate building for the Bureau of Migration and Asylum that he visited on August 18, Info-Prim Neo reports. Currently, the institution is based in a building whose offices are occupied by a number of state and public organizations. The Bureau’s offices are located at different stories and thus the employees’ work is hindered, said the Premier. ”The issuing of documents to applicants is delayed and this fact negatively affects the people and the investment climate in the country,” said Vlad Filat. As many as 4,745 applications from foreigners have been processed through the one-stop office so far this year. They included applications for staying in Moldova, for repatriation and for extending the short-stay visas.
