The Cabinet supported the Balti Municipal Council’s initiative to place the bust of late actor Mihai Volontir on the Alley of National Culture Classics in Balti town in appreciation for the merits of the actor who worked for the local Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” throughout his career, IPN reports.

Mihai Volontir played over 120 roles in theater plays and films and also distinguished himself as a pop music singer. He got state awards of the USSR and the Republic of Moldova and was a Knight of the Order of the Republic and a Citizen of Honor of Balti municipality, a People’s Artist of the USSR and the Republic of Moldova and holder of numerous prizes awarded for his roles.

The costs associated with the placing of the bust and laying out of the adjoining territory will be covered with sponsorships and donations.
