Cabinet appoints new governmental agent to ECHR
Lilian Apostol was named Moldova’s governmental agent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The post fell vacant last June, when former agent Vladimir Grosu was designated as deputy minister of justice, Info-Prim Neo reports.
From July 2011 until present, Lilian Apostol had held the post on an interim basis, as the deputy head of the Governmental Agent Division of the Ministry of Justice. Earlier, Lilian Apostol had served as prosecutor at the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office for eight years. Afterward, he worked as a consultant of the Joint Program of the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the process of assisting the legislative activity.
Lilian Apostol was born on March 16, 1977 in Telenesti town. He graduated from the Law University in Bucharest, Romania, in 2000. In 2010, he obtained the title of Master of Law (criminal sciences) from the University of European Studies of Moldova. He has teaching experience and speaks several foreign languages.
