The Moldovan Border Police is warning travelers that the vehicle border crossing Cahul-Oancea should be avoided as the Romanian side suspended work temporarily owing to adverse weather conditions, IPN reports.

Additionally, drivers of vehicles heavier than 3.5. tonnes are advised to avoid the crossing Leuseni-Albita, as a portion of a Romanian road from Albita to Crasna is closed.

Despite the heavy snowfall, no major incidents were reported by both border police authorities.

The border police on both banks of the river Prut are recommending drivers to avoid long journeys altogether, especially if their vehicles are not properly equipped to face the difficult driving conditions. Drivers should keep in mind that further traffic restrictions could be imposed by other authorities.
