More than 50,000 cans, including 1,685 pork cans and 38,530 beef cans, will be offered for sale from the state reserve, Info-Prim Neo reports. The shelf life of these cans is three years and expires at the end of this year. The pork cans will be sold for 17.66 lei, VAT included, while the beef cans for 19.77 lei, VAT included. Vasile Pantea, director general of the Agency for Material Reserves, said early in February they offered these cans to the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to be used in their subdivisions, but they refused to purchase them, arguing the market is satisfied with such products. Thus, it was decided to sell them at lower prices at the market so as to avoid losses.
