Carretera, the second personal exhibition of artist Victoria Cozmolici, is inspired by the music of the Spaniard Julio Iglesias, including the song Carretera (The Road). The artists says the roads, the intersections, the portraits, and the figures in the displayed paintings are all inspired from her trips and encounters with interesting people.
The exhibition, hosted by the French Alliance in Moldova, comprises 25 works painted in 2009, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The artist uses to paint her works in warm colors which she says rediscover the joie de vivre. “I enjoy making a play out of colors and gather the rainbow in one place. But I use cold colors too, which eventually give the painting even more warmth”.
Actor Sandu Cupcea compares Victoria's paintings with literature. “Each street (in the paintings) talks in its own way, each painting is a whole story and a novel if you know how to read it”.
A young painter who graduated from the Pedagogical University Ion Creanga in 2001, Victoria Cozmolici says her biggest dream now is to become a member of the Union of Plastic Artists (UAP) of Moldova.
The exhibition will remain open untin February 28.
