CBI presents Moldovan fruit exporters in Madrid

Next week, when fruit and vegetable professionals can finally meet again physically in the Fruit Attraction fair IFEMA in Madrid, the Fruit Producers and Exporters Association Moldova Fruct will also be exhibiting, through the agency of five exporters. This year, for the second time, Moldovan tasty apples, table grapes and plums will be presented at the Fruit Attraction exhibition, IPN reports, quoting FreshPlaza, a European communication platform centering on horticulture.

According to Piet Schotel, external consultant for CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries), the Moldovan organization will represent the horticultural sector of the country. Moldova Fruct accounts for over 180 of the largest and the most advanced agribusinesses operating in Moldova. Besides fruit growers, their members include fruit processors, exporters and service providers.

“Annually more than 500,000 tons of apples, 90,000 tons of plums, 130,000 tons of table grapes are harvested in Moldova. In addition, Moldovan producers can deliver aromatic apricots, firm and tasty cherries and high-quality dried fruits,” Schotel explains. “Moldova prides itself in having a unique geographical position between the Carpathian Mountains and the Black Sea, providing a rich soil and combined with the abundance sun hours it gives the products a superior taste.

FreahPlaza noted that the Moldova Fruct stand can be found in Hall 10 – E07 during the Fruit Attraction fair in Madrid, on October 5-7.
