The Central Election Commission (CEC) will work with TikTok to combat false, erroneous messages or those published in violation of legal provisions during the election period. The subject was discussed by CEC representatives and TikTok representative Azamat Burjuev, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

CEC chairwoman Angelica Caraman welcomed the platform’s initiative to establish cooperation relations with the electoral authority of the Republic of Moldova, given that the phenomenon of disinformation, including in the online space, has expanded significantly, especially during the election period.

The official noted that the institution is ready to identify appropriate measures to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process, through TikTok - a social media platform popular among the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
