An explosion that happened in a cellar in Edinet town resulted in the death of a man aged 38. He entered the cellar, where there was a cylinder with propane-butane, with a burning cigarette. It is presumed that the blast happened because of a leakage of gas, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the ceiling of the cellar fell on the man and he died immediately. The rescuers took the cylinder out and cooled it in order to avoid a fire.

The dwellers of the house, among whom two children, were lodged at relatives. An investigation is under way.
