The universities will decide by themselves when to open the admission session, but the limits will be July 21 – August 31. This is for the time being a suggestion put forward for public debates. The Ministry of Education proposed giving up dividing the admission places according to the place of residence (rural/urban areas) so as to put in equal conditions all the high school graduates, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the Ministry says that they also suggested holding the admission without dividing the places by the language of study. Russian language groups may be formed on request. The applicants will indicate in the application in what language they want to study after they are admitted.
Traditionally, there will be maintained the quota of 15% of the total number of budget-funded places for socially deprived groups. Priority will be given to orphans and persons with severe or noticeable disabilities.
In the 2014 admission session, the applicants will be able to apply to several faculties at one or more universities, but will be enrolled only at one faculty of one university. The changes are to be approved by the Board of the Ministry of Education.
