China donates medical equipment for reanimatology and intensive therapy sections

The medical institutions in Moldova, including those from Transnistria, will be supplied with Chinese equipment for reanimatology and intensive therapy sections, Info-Prim Neo reports. On November 13, Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu signed the protocol on the donation of more than 400 monitors that will fully satisfy Moldovan hospitals' needs. “It is an important contribution to the equipment of the Moldovan medical institutions,” said the minister. “The Chinese authorities are ready to provide assistance to Moldova so as to develop the traditional friendship and cooperation relations. We hope this medical instruments and equipment for providing emergency assistance will help improve the quality of the medical services in Moldova, especially in the efforts to combat the A (H1N1) pandemic flu,” said Shi Longzhuang, the Ambassador of China to Moldova. The equipment worth 10 million yuan (about US$1.46 million) will go to 73 national, municipal and district hospitals and medical institutions from Moldova's Transnistrian region. The donation was made as part of the agreement of economic and technical cooperation between the Governments of Moldova and China signed on May 20, 2006.
