Chisinau administration loses La Izvor Park islets

The Supreme Court of Justice issued a decision whereby the islets in the Park “La Izvor” were transferred to the restaurant with the same name that is located on the bank of the pond. “We will never cede those islets,” Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said, referring to the court decision, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the October 15 meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, the Law Division head Diana Gurschi said they used all the appeal methods possible and the decision was definitive and irrevocable. The court ruled that the 1.1 ha of land form part of the plot adjoining the restaurant “La Izvor” as there are no other ways for reaching the islets than through the land belonging to the restaurant. “Those islets are not adjoining land,” said Dorin Chirtoaca. “The state institutions cannot pass such a decision. This is evidently a theft. However, the Supreme Court of Justice rules in favor of the restaurant. This issue should be discussed inside the alliance. I will try to find out by all the official and unofficial ways possible if politicians are involved in this case.” According to the mayor, depending on how this land is used, the City Hall may collect 1 million lei to 1 million euros annually into the municipal budget.
