Chisinau City Hall wants to invest in Circus
Several days after visiting the Chisinau Circus, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca announced that the City Hall is ready to invest money in this cultural facility, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In the September 26 meeting of City Hall officials, the mayor said that the Circus can be restored in 2-3 years or even earlier if enough money is found.
”The Ministry of Culture is looking for an investor. The Chisinau City Hall is ready to become the investor for the Circus. I’m not sure that privatizing it is the best solution in the current circumstances given the value of this facility,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
He instructed the Culture Division to inform the Ministry of Culture about the City Hall’s intention to invest in the Circus. He also said that he would like the Circus to become municipal property.
The Chisinau Circus is a joint stock company. The Ministry of Culture is the main shareholder, owning over 90% of the shares.
