Chisinau grenade explosion case not yet solved

The person who exploded a grenade in the Great National Assembly Square on October 14, 2009, on the Day of Chisinau, has not been identified. The prosecutors say the investigation goes on and they are waiting for the results of the test to determine the offender's DNA on the grenade's ring carried out in Belarus, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on January 28, Prosecutor Igor Popa, the head of the Exceptional Cases Prosecution Division of the Prosecutor General's Office, said they are investigating all the possible versions. “We do not exclude a terrorist attack. A murder attempt or settling of accounts are also possible,” Popa said. According to him, they investigated dozens of persons who were in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau at that moment. “We are making efforts to discover the culprit and are sure we will identity him finally.” The DNA test will last. “The results will be available not very soon. We are waiting,” the prosecutor said.
