A number of minibus drivers were fired and several minibuses were removed from routes in Chisinau following an inspection of the State Tax Service. The minibus operators concerned have warned the municipal authorities that because of the insufficient number of vehicles and drivers they will be forced to reduce operations starting September 3, Info-Prim Neo reports. This was announced at the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Tuesday by Adrian Boldurescu, the head of the municipal division responsible for public transport, who cited an open letter from minibus operators. However, Adrian Boldurescu assured that public transit services won't be affected. The Electric Transport Utility and the Urban Bus Company will introduce by 30% more vehicles than usual on the city's routes to ensure a smooth conveyance of passengers.
