The official Chisinau asked the Ukrainian authorities to provide details about the new rules imposed on the crossing of the border after a number of Moldovans were not allowed to enter Ukraine. The Ukrainian border services argued that the Moldovans were unable to prove that they have the financial resources required for staying in Ukraine, IPN reports.

Border Police press officer Daniela Manzatu said the Ukrainian side also invoked the unfavorable weather conditions and the fact that the Moldovan citizens could not clearly say why they were going to Ukraine.

Head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ana Taban said the Ukrainian authorities didn’t officially inform the Moldovan side about the new border crossing rules imposed by them.
