A Chisinau police officer was arrested on suspicion of asking and receiving a €300 bribe from a person in trouble with the law.
That person reported the officer to the Anticorruption Center. The officer had allegedly told that person that he could influence the prosecutor pursuing him/her in a drug possession case to drop the charges and change his/her status from suspect to witness.
The officer is now in the Anticorruption Center’s custody.
