An inhabitant of Chisinau aged 34 was arrested on suspicion of involvement in instigation for terrorist purposes and public justification of terrorism. Within the investigation, it was established that in 2015 – 2016 the accused posted photos and videos of arms and weapons accompanied by symbols of a Syrian terrorist organization on his profile on a social networking site, IPN reports, with reference to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

On the same site, the suspect published a number of posts that propagated, justified and incited actions of a terrorist character, photos of armed soldiers, attaching symbols and gestures of this organization, photos of ideological and political leaders and videos showing speeches urging to support the activities of the given terrorist organization.

When he was questioned by the police, the man admitted his guilt. At the request of prosecutors, he was remanded in custody for 20 days initially.
