Warmer-than-average weather in December meant lower heating bills for Chisinau's residents, averaging 23.4 lei per square meter of heated area and ranging from 500 to 100 lei in total for most of the consumers connected to the municipal system, IPN reports.
Ion Margineanu, the director of the bill processing municipal company Infocom, told the City Hall's meeting on Monday that only 10% of consumers got heating bills of 2000 lei in December.
Margineanu said that the total value of the heat consumed in December was 18 million lei, lower than in the same period last year, and explained that this is due to the unseasonably warm air temperatures.
