Seven Romanian films will be screened within the second edition of the Romanian Film Days at the Odeon Movie Theater in Chisinau between October 20 and 23. Entrance is free of charge, IPN reports.
The event’s organizers - the Association of Independent Filmmakers of Moldovan “Alternative Cinema” and Production House ROVA Film of Romania – said the newest film of Cristi Puiu “Sieranevada” will be premiered in Moldova in the presence of the director, who will give an open masterclass to the public, where he will speak about his films.
Radu Jude’s newest film “Cicatrized hearts”, which won the Special Jury Prize of the Locarno International Film Festival, will be screened in the presence of young actor Lucian Teodor Rus, who plays the main part.
The second edition of the Romanian Film Days in Chisinau will have famous actor Alexandru Papadopol and film director Andrei Cohn as special invitees. These will speak to the public after the showing of the film “At my father’s home” that in 2015 was included in the official competition of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
Film director Marian Crisan will present his newest thriller “Horizon”, which in 2015 was elected in the international competition of the Tallinn Festival.
The Moldovan spectators will also be able to see “Ilegitim”, which was awarded at the prestigious Berlin Festival, Catalin Mitulescu’s “Beyond the railway”, which was awarded at the Festival of Karlovy Vary this year, “Double”, which is the debut film of the young director Catrinel Danaiata, and the classical film “At the fortunate mill” (1955), which was nominated for the Palme d'Or in 1957.
