“Chisinau Youth Orchestra” project brings together musicians from five countries

More than 45 young musicians from Moldova, Romania, Russia, the UK and Austria will perform together on the stage in Chisinau on July 30 and 31. The concert is the last of the activities of the musical project “Chisinau Youth Orchestra”, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Musical-Choral Association of Moldova. The project taking place at the health resort “Bucuria” in Vadul lui Voda town will last for a week. It is a kind of summer school, where the young people will take part in musical and recreational activities aimed at strengthening the orchestra. The project involves the most talented musicians aged between 15 and 25, who represent different musical institutions. The institutions include the Chisinau-based College “Stefan Neaga”, the high schools “Ciprian Porumbescu” and “Serghei Rahmaninov”, and the Academy of Music and Plastic Arts as well as such renowned international institutions as the Vienna University of Music, the Royal College of Arts of London, the Moscow Pedagogical Institute “Mikhail Gnessin”, and the Music Academy “Gheorghe Dima” of Cluj-Napoca. Among the personalities who will train the young musicians are Petre Sbarcea, one of the most famous Romanian conductors, Ukrainian conductor Mihail Secichinm and the emeritus Moldovan musicologist Tatiana Lupan. On July 30, the concert will take place at the Organ Hall in Chisinau, while the next day – in the square of the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”. The project is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the Ministry of Culture and the General Culture Division of Chisinau municipality.
