The capital's water utility Apa-Canal Chisinau is calling on motorists to respect the traffic signs warning of utility works on the roadway, IPN reports.

The utility's general manager Constantin Becciev says many drivers disrespect signs posted along utility excavations and often become trapped with their vehicles in the gravel filling those trenches.

Constantin Becciev announced that massive utility works are underway on Vasile Alecsandri Street, with repairs soon to follow on two segments of Stefan cel Mare Blvd.
