Christmas campaign “From Mothers for Mothers” launched
The Social Mission “Diaconia” of the Bessarabian Metropolitan Church has staged the Christmas campaign “From Mothers for Mothers” the second year in a row. It will last from December 3 until December 25 and is aimed at promoting solidarity for supporting the mother-child couples in difficulty, Info-PrimNeo reports.
According to a communiqué from the organization, workshops to make fir tree decorations will be mounted within the campaign at the Maternal Center “In the Mother’s Arms”, which is situated at 22 Criuleni St. All the mothers who want to become involved in this social project are invited to them. The ‘participation ticket’ is a clothing item for children aged between 0 and 3, which will be added to the Center’s wardrobe. The decorations made at workshops will be sold at a mall in Chisinau on December 22-23.
Throughout December, clothes and toys for beneficiaries of the project “In the Mother’s Arms” will be collected through the UnicaShaping chain. All the families that want to get involved in the campaign are invited to give charity dinners so as to help the mother-child couples that are beneficiaries of the given project. Diaconia will provide relevant information for the purpose, including photos, life stories, and videos.
The workshops organized during the previous Christmas campaign involved 100 mothers, while at the charity fair about 300 families bought toys. Over a year, Diaconia helped 42 children through the project “In the Mother’s Arms”.
