The winter holidays this year will be celebrated in the capital city by observing the epidemiological norms. Mayor general Ion Ceban said the Chisinau City Hall will make sure that the winter holidays are celebrated in the best way. The district head’s offices and the Culture Division are dealing with this. There will also be televised projects, IPN reports.

“I think we have extraordinary people who should be involved, by obeying all the safety rules. The Christmas holidays will be great in Chisinau,” Ion Ceban told a news conference.

He voiced hope that the “two Christmas trees and two bazaars” formula will be avoided this year. He said he made approaches to the Government, the responsible ministries for coordinating the related activities. “They told us to go and walk, but they staged all kinds of events this autumn and didn’t assume any consequence. Such an approach and the invoked reasons seem ridiculous to me.”

Ion Ceban stated that coordination meetings centering on the winter holidays will be held today and tomorrow and more details will be provided later.
