This year the Christmas tree will be brought to the National Assembly Square earlier than in other years, the head of the municipal company “Lumteh” Nicolae Vereshko announced Monday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Nicolae Vereshko said that about five days will be needed to decorate the tree and thus it will be fixed on November 25. “The people should understand us. We want the decorative lighting to be on at the start of winter so that we have a holiday atmosphere. On December 1, the lights on the Christmas tree will be switched on,” said Nicolae Vereshko. The head of the Green Areas Association Eliferie Haruta said the Christmas tree was already found. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said the tree will be bought from a private individual or a legal entity. “I see that the tree this year will be selected in the period of the presidential elections,” said the mayor jokingly. Eliferie Haruta replied that it is easier to choose a tree than a head of state. As the previous years, the Chisinau City Hall intends to organize a Christmas Fair, similar to those in other states. The lights on the Christmas tree are usually turned on on the first day of winter. Earlier, the municipal administration promised that this year the decorative lighting will be special, different from that used the previous years.
