Church representatives pray in front of Palace of Republic
Representatives of the Church prayed in front of the Palace of the Republic on the morning of May 25 within a protest staged against the adoption of the bill on guaranteeing of equality. As yesterday, the protest involved the Bishop of Balti and Falesti Marchel, who splashed the entrance to the building with holy water, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Bishop Marchel said those who came to the Palace of the Republic did it because they care about the fate of their children and of the future generations. He stressed that the lawmakers promised the people that they will not be a voting machine and will thoroughly analyze every law, but do not keep their promises.
The protest also involved sympathizers of the Social Democratic Party and the Socialist People’s Party and several Communist MPs, accompanied by a group of supporters.
The legislative body is to pass the bill on guaranteeing of equality in the first reading today, May 25.
