Cigarettes and cars confiscated in customs

About 3,000 packets of cigarettes were discovered in two cars at the Leuseni-Albita customs post. The units of transport and the cigarettes were confiscated, while the drivers fined, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Customs Service. Approximately 2,000 packs of cigarettes to the value of €3,800 were found in a Citroen C5 with Italian license number, driven by a Moldovan citizen. The packets were hidden in different places. In a Renault car, there were discovered more than 1,000 packets of cigarettes worth €2,480. The drivers were fined €2,570. Over 275 attempts to smuggle tobacco products over the Moldovan-Romanian border had been foiled by December 22.
