Polish films awarded at important festivals in Poland and in the world can be watched online on the TIFF Unlimited platform in the framework of the Polish Film Festival CinePOLSKA, which is held between November 5 and 11. The program consists of four films that can be seen free of charge during seven days, without opening an account on the platform, IPN reports.
The broadcasts will include “Corpus Christi” that was nominated for Oscar 2020 and the most recent production of the famous film director Agnieszka Holland, “Charlatan “, which is the Czech Republic’s candidate for Oscar 2021, in the best Foreign Language Film category
Jan Komasa’s “Corpus Christi” (115 min) is about the real story of a boy with a difficult past who became a priest and went to a rural community that faced numerous problems. It was seen by over 1.5 million spectators in Polish cinemas.
Agnieszka Holland’s “Charlatan” (118 min) is about Czech healer Jan Mikolášek, who was born at the end of the 19th century and was known as Znachor. The world premiere of the film was held as part of the prestigious section Berlinale Special of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival.
Maciej Pieprzyca’s “Icarus. The Legend of Mieczysław Kosz” (122 min) is a classical film about the most important moments in the life of the genial jazz pianist and composer Mieczysław Kosz. The key role is skillfully played by Dominik Ogrodnik, while music is played by the remarkable jazz pianist Leszek Możdżer.
“Supernova” (78 min) is the debut full-length film of Bartosz Kruhlik. It tells an apparently simple story about a famous politician who caused a road accident as a result of which three persons struggle to live on a country road section. “Supernova” was assessed as the best debut film at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia in 2019. It was shown at the TIFF Festival in Cluj-Napoca this year.
The Polish Film Festival CinePOLSKA is organized by the Polish Institute in Bucharest together with its partners – the Polish Filmmakers Association and TIFF Unlimited. The films will be available only on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and will be subtitled in Romanian, Russian and English. They can be seen by pushing the CC button in the right down corner of the image with the film.
