Citizens of 60 states will be able to easier get a visa for Moldova. The procedure for issuing work and business residence permits will also be simplified. The subject was discussed in a meeting of Cabinet members, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the investment attractiveness of the country and the number of tourists will be substantially increased this way. The Premier suggested that only an application for being issued with a visa, accompanied by the applicant’s valid passport, should be sufficient for a tourist or business visa. Given the particularities of the activity, the driver’s license, vehicle registration certificate and authenticated copy of the carrier’s license will be additionally presented for obtaining a transport visa. To get a visa now, the persons present the round trip ticket, health insurance and a hotel reservation.
The procedure for issuing work and business residence permits will be simplified in a move to attract investments and liberalize the labor market. It is suggested reducing the number of required documents from ten to six and the period for examining temporary work permits for migrant workers from 25 to 15 days. The period for issuing a permit of stay will be decreased from 30 to seven days.
Currently, the citizens of 100 countries can travel visa-free to Moldova. A visa regime is applied in relation to the citizens of 57 states, while the citizens of 38 states need the invitation of a private individual or legal entity from the country they intend to visit to get a visa.
